Recently, Taiyuan Iron and Steel signed a contract for the supply of stainless steel plates for the core equipment of the "Hualong One" nuclear power plant in Pakistan's Chashma Nuclear Power Plant Unit 5. The "Hualong One" nuclear power technology is currently one of the most advanced nuclear power technologies in the world and is also the main model for China's nuclear power to go abroad. Earlier, the Prime Minister of Pakistan attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Unit 5 of the Chashma Nuclear Power Plant, which is another major milestone in the nuclear energy cooperation between China and Pakistan.

   In addition to the units built in the 1960s and 1970s, all seven units of the existing Chashma Nuclear Power Plant and Karachi Nuclear Power Plant in Pakistan were constructed with assistance from China. The China Nuclear Industry Corporation China Zhongyuan Engineering Corporation Limited is responsible for the general contracting and construction. Harbin Electric Corporation, Dongfang Electric Corporation, Shangdian Electric Corporation, Nanjing Chenguang Group, Jiuli Group, Anhui Yingliu Group and other units have successively manufactured different equipment for the above-mentioned nuclear power plants in Pakistan. The stainless steel materials used are basically provided by Taiyuan Iron and Steel. From 2016 to 2017, Taiyuan Iron and Steel's nuclear power stainless steel plates were exported directly to Pakistan for the first time as products for use in the "Hualong One" project at Karachi Nuclear Power Plant. In June 2016, Taiyuan Iron and Steel organized a special visit to Pakistani nuclear power plants and related business cooperation units. In 2018, Heavy Mechanical Complex-3, Pakistan's largest heavy machinery manufacturing company and largest nuclear power equipment manufacturer, awarded Taiyuan Iron and Steel a commemorative plaque of cooperation, expressing its trust and appreciation for Taiyuan Iron and Steel. For many years, the Embassy of Pakistan in China has invited Taiyuan Iron and Steel to Beijing to exchange information and discuss business cooperation for the new year. Officials such as the Pakistani Minister to China have greatly appreciated Taiyuan Iron and Steel's product quality and business reputation. Over the years, Taiyuan Iron and Steel has established a relatively strong long-term friendly cooperative relationship with relevant Pakistani enterprises.

   In recent years, TISCO has made important contributions to the construction of key projects in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor of the Belt and Road Initiative. In the future, TISCO will further enrich its product series, accelerate technological research and development, and continue to make greater contributions to building a China-Pakistan community of shared destiny in the new era.
